Tanzania T-bill auction, 23 April 2025: 364-day at 8.91%, down 2 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 23 April 2025, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 7.50% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 8.47% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 8.91% (down 2 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled TZS 130.7bn against TZS 107.6bn on offer, 121% of the amount sought, and TZS 64.8bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 6.75% to 12.99%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 10.81%, so the government is paying 190 basis points less than twelve months ago.
