Tanzania T-bill auction, 28 July 2021: 364-day at 3.96%, down 11 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 28 July 2021, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 182-day bill at 3.20% (down 30 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 3.96% (down 11 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled TZS 110.0bn against TZS 75.7bn on offer, 145% of the amount sought, and TZS 75.7bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 3.93% to 6.02%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 4.06%, so the government is paying 10 basis points less than twelve months ago.
