Tanzania T-bill auction, 11 July 2018: 364-day at 7.29%, up 40 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 11 July 2018, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 364-day bill at 7.29% (up 40 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled TZS 106.5bn against TZS 95.0bn on offer, 112% of the amount sought, and TZS 95.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 4.12% to 11.96%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 8.82%, so the government is paying 153 basis points less than twelve months ago.
