Tanzania T-bill auction, 11 September 2013: 364-day at 15.88%, up 56 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 11 September 2013, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 13.06% (up 45 basis points), the 182-day bill at 15.75% (up 61 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 15.88% (up 56 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled TZS 156.0bn against TZS 140.0bn on offer, 111% of the amount sought, and TZS 110.4bn was accepted.
At 15.88%, the 364-day rate is the highest in the 26 auctions of the past year.
