Tanzania T-bill auction, 28 August 2013: 364-day at 15.31%, up 17 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 28 August 2013, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 12.60% (up 16 basis points), the 182-day bill at 15.15% (up 54 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 15.31% (up 17 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled TZS 154.3bn against TZS 140.0bn on offer, 110% of the amount sought, and TZS 139.9bn was accepted.
At 15.31%, the 364-day rate is the highest in the 26 auctions of the past year.
