Tanzania T-bill auction, 14 August 2013: 364-day at 15.14%, up 24 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 14 August 2013, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 12.44% (down 16 basis points), the 182-day bill at 14.61% (up 5 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 15.14% (up 24 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled TZS 107.3bn against TZS 140.0bn on offer, 77% of the amount sought, and TZS 106.8bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 13.11% to 15.23%.
