Tanzania T-bill auction, 13 March 2013: 364-day at 13.67%, down 30 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 13 March 2013, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 11.64% (up 2 basis points), the 182-day bill at 13.14% (down 2 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 13.67% (down 30 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled TZS 201.7bn against TZS 130.0bn on offer, 155% of the amount sought, and TZS 122.2bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 13.11% to 15.23%.
