Tanzania T-bill auction, 27 February 2013: 364-day at 13.97%, down 18 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 27 February 2013, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 11.62% (down 35 basis points), the 182-day bill at 13.16% (down 41 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 13.97% (down 18 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled TZS 403.1bn against TZS 130.0bn on offer, 310% of the amount sought, and TZS 273.7bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 13.11% to 15.23%.
