Tanzania T-bill auction, 13 February 2013: 364-day at 14.15%, down 45 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 13 February 2013, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 11.98% (up 16 basis points), the 182-day bill at 13.57% (down 27 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 14.15% (down 45 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled TZS 345.9bn against TZS 130.0bn on offer, 266% of the amount sought, and TZS 229.1bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 13.11% to 15.23%.
