Tanzania T-bill auction, 5 December 2012: 364-day at 13.47%, up 4 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 5 December 2012, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 11.87% (up 11 basis points), the 182-day bill at 12.79% (down 7 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 13.47% (up 4 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled TZS 264.6bn against TZS 125.0bn on offer, 212% of the amount sought, and TZS 161.8bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 13.11% to 13.76%.
