Tanzania T-bill auction, 24 October 2012: 364-day at 13.40%, down 6 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 24 October 2012, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 11.98% (down 61 basis points), the 182-day bill at 13.13% (down 23 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 13.40% (down 6 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled TZS 198.3bn against TZS 105.0bn on offer, 189% of the amount sought, and TZS 105.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 13.11% to 13.76%.
