Mozambique T-bill auction, 14 February 2018: 182-day at 19.96%, up 30 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 14 February 2018, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 182-day bill at 19.96% (up 30 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 659m against MZN 1.3bn on offer, 51% of the amount sought, and MZN 659m was accepted.
Over the past year the 182-day rate has ranged from 19.66% to 28.38%.
A year earlier the 182-day bill cleared at 27.90%, so the government is paying 794 basis points less than twelve months ago.
