At the Treasury bill auction dated 21 February 2018, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 182-day bill at 19.95% (down 1 basis point). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 1.1bn against MZN 1.5bn on offer, 74% of the amount sought, and MZN 1.1bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 182-day rate has ranged from 19.66% to 28.38%.
A year earlier the 182-day bill cleared at 27.90%, so the government is paying 795 basis points less than twelve months ago.
