At the Treasury bill auction dated 5 October 2016, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 182-day bill at 18.56% (up 72 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 275m against MZN 1.3bn on offer, 21% of the amount sought, and MZN 275m was accepted.
At 18.56%, the 182-day rate is the highest in the 19 auctions of the past year.
