Mozambique T-bill auction, 28 September 2016: 91-day at 17.95%, up 71 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 28 September 2016, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 17.95% (up 71 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.

The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 315m against MZN 500m on offer, 63% of the amount sought, and MZN 315m was accepted.

At 17.95%, the 91-day rate is the highest in the 12 auctions of the past year.
