Malawi T-bill auction, 10 December 2013: 364-day at 36.52%, up 209 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 10 December 2013, the Reserve Bank of Malawi cleared the 91-day bill at 31.81% (up 456 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 36.52% (up 209 basis points). The rate shown is the average yield of allotted bids.

Bids totalled MWK 4.3bn and MWK 2.1bn was accepted, 47% of what was bid.

At 36.52%, the 364-day rate is the highest in the 10 auctions of the past year.
