Egypt T-bill auction, 8 September 2026: 364-day at 25.12%, up 13 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 8 September 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 24.33% (up 20 basis points), the 182-day bill at 25.53% (up 7 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 25.12% (up 13 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 354.2bn against EGP 155.0bn on offer, 229% of the amount sought, and EGP 166.9bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 22.78% to 25.85%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.90%, so the government is paying 78 basis points less than twelve months ago.
