Egypt T-bill auction, 18 August 2026: 364-day at 24.95%, down 12 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 18 August 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 24.19% (down 44 basis points), the 182-day bill at 25.60% (down 26 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 24.95% (down 12 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 464.0bn against EGP 150.0bn on offer, 309% of the amount sought, and EGP 195.6bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 22.78% to 25.93%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.19%, so the government is paying 124 basis points less than twelve months ago.
