Egypt T-bill auction, 4 August 2026: 364-day at 25.07%, up 7 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 4 August 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 24.76% (up 2 basis points), the 182-day bill at 25.91% (up 17 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 25.07% (up 7 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 279.5bn against EGP 150.0bn on offer, 186% of the amount sought, and EGP 92.2bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 22.78% to 26.19%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.81%, so the government is paying 74 basis points less than twelve months ago.
