Egypt T-bill auction, 24 March 2026: 364-day at 23.36%, up 36 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 24 March 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 24.87% (up 48 basis points), the 182-day bill at 24.85% (up 43 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 23.36% (up 36 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 212.0bn against EGP 120.0bn on offer, 177% of the amount sought, and EGP 119.9bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 22.78% to 26.19%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.13%, so the government is paying 177 basis points less than twelve months ago.
