Egypt T-bill auction, 17 March 2026: 364-day at 23.00%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 17 March 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 24.39% (up 2 basis points), the 182-day bill at 24.42% (up 24 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 23.00% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 211.7bn against EGP 115.0bn on offer, 184% of the amount sought, and EGP 92.7bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 22.78% to 26.19%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.71%, so the government is paying 271 basis points less than twelve months ago.
