Egypt T-bill auction, 31 March 2026: 364-day at 23.75%, up 39 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 31 March 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 25.09% (up 22 basis points), the 182-day bill at 25.32% (up 47 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 23.75% (up 39 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 204.1bn against EGP 115.0bn on offer, 177% of the amount sought, and EGP 120.2bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 22.78% to 26.19%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 24.53%, so the government is paying 78 basis points less than twelve months ago.
