Egypt T-bill auction, 24 February 2026: 364-day at 22.78%, down 16 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 24 February 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 23.77% (up 12 basis points), the 182-day bill at 23.86% (down 8 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 22.78% (down 16 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 196.5bn against EGP 120.0bn on offer, 164% of the amount sought, and EGP 97.0bn was accepted.
At 22.78%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 52 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.54%, so the government is paying 276 basis points less than twelve months ago.
