Egypt T-bill auction, 3 March 2026: 364-day at 22.78%, up 1 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 3 March 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 24.16% (up 39 basis points), the 182-day bill at 23.84% (down 2 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 22.78% (up 1 basis point). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 267.4bn against EGP 115.0bn on offer, 233% of the amount sought, and EGP 140.2bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 22.78% to 26.19%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.54%, so the government is paying 276 basis points less than twelve months ago.
