Egypt T-bill auction, 20 January 2026: 364-day at 24.26%, down 12 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 20 January 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 25.14% (down 6 basis points), the 182-day bill at 25.32% (down 3 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 24.26% (down 12 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 363.1bn against EGP 115.0bn on offer, 316% of the amount sought, and EGP 174.8bn was accepted.
At 24.26%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 52 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.97%, so the government is paying 171 basis points less than twelve months ago.
