Egypt T-bill auction, 13 January 2026: 364-day at 24.38%, down 11 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 13 January 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 25.20% (down 9 basis points), the 182-day bill at 25.34% (down 12 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 24.38% (down 11 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 434.8bn against EGP 130.0bn on offer, 334% of the amount sought, and EGP 262.9bn was accepted.
At 24.38%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 52 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.02%, so the government is paying 164 basis points less than twelve months ago.
