Egypt T-bill auction, 27 January 2026: 364-day at 24.02%, down 23 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 27 January 2026, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 24.87% (down 27 basis points), the 182-day bill at 25.20% (down 11 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 24.02% (down 23 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 470.9bn against EGP 120.0bn on offer, 392% of the amount sought, and EGP 148.9bn was accepted.
At 24.02%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 52 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 25.43%, so the government is paying 141 basis points less than twelve months ago.
