Egypt T-bill auction, 26 August 2025: 364-day at 25.93%, down 15 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 26 August 2025, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 27.68% (down 67 basis points), the 182-day bill at 27.04% (down 55 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 25.93% (down 15 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 371.0bn against EGP 105.0bn on offer, 353% of the amount sought, and EGP 199.4bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 24.45% to 26.25%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.24%, so the government is paying 31 basis points less than twelve months ago.
