Egypt T-bill auction, 2 September 2025: 364-day at 25.90%, down 3 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 2 September 2025, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 27.18% (down 50 basis points), the 182-day bill at 26.98% (down 6 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 25.90% (down 3 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 245.0bn against EGP 105.0bn on offer, 233% of the amount sought, and EGP 101.9bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 24.45% to 26.25%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.24%, so the government is paying 34 basis points less than twelve months ago.
