Egypt T-bill auction, 19 August 2025: 364-day at 26.08%, down 11 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 19 August 2025, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 28.35% (down 65 basis points), the 182-day bill at 27.58% (down 41 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 26.08% (down 11 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 355.0bn against EGP 110.0bn on offer, 323% of the amount sought, and EGP 129.5bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 24.45% to 26.25%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 26.24%, so the government is paying 16 basis points less than twelve months ago.
