Egypt T-bill auction, 28 September 2021: 364-day at 13.03%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 28 September 2021, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 12.32% (down 2 basis points), the 182-day bill at 12.61% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 13.03% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 61.7bn against EGP 26.5bn on offer, 233% of the amount sought, and EGP 23.8bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.67% to 13.68%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 13.67%, so the government is paying 64 basis points less than twelve months ago.
