Egypt T-bill auction, 3 October 2015: 91-day at 11.19%, down 47 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 3 October 2015, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 11.19% (down 47 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.

Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 5.3bn against EGP 2.5bn on offer, 213% of the amount sought, and EGP 2.5bn was accepted.

At 11.19%, the 91-day rate is the lowest in the 14 auctions of the past year.

A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 11.61%, so the government is paying 42 basis points less than twelve months ago.
