Egypt T-bill auction, 2 February 2016: 182-day at 11.81%, up 4 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 2 February 2016, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 11.81% (up 4 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.

Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 8.3bn against EGP 4.0bn on offer, 208% of the amount sought, and EGP 4.0bn was accepted.

A year earlier the 182-day bill cleared at 11.77%, so the government is paying 4 basis points more than twelve months ago.
