Egypt T-bill auction, 18 June 2013: 364-day at 14.88%, up 4 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 18 June 2013, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 14.03% (up 3 basis points), the 182-day bill at 14.43% (up 5 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 14.88% (up 4 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 15.5bn against EGP 10.0bn on offer, 155% of the amount sought, and EGP 10.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.90% to 15.96%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 15.91%, so the government is paying 104 basis points less than twelve months ago.
