Egypt T-bill auction, 25 June 2013: 364-day at 14.91%, up 3 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 25 June 2013, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 14.21% (up 19 basis points), the 182-day bill at 14.48% (up 4 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 14.91% (up 3 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled EGP 13.2bn against EGP 10.0bn on offer, 132% of the amount sought, and EGP 8.2bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.90% to 15.95%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 15.93%, so the government is paying 102 basis points less than twelve months ago.
