Egypt T-bill auction, 11 June 2013: 364-day at 14.84%, up 4 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 11 June 2013, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 13.99% (up 3 basis points), the 182-day bill at 14.38% (up 4 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 14.84% (up 4 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was fully subscribed: bids totalled EGP 15.3bn against EGP 11.0bn on offer, 139% of the amount sought, and EGP 9.2bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.90% to 15.96%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 15.89%, so the government is paying 105 basis points less than twelve months ago.
