Egypt T-bill auction, 3 August 2010: 91-day at 10.01%, down 15 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 3 August 2010, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 10.01% (down 15 basis points) and the 182-day bill at 10.37% (down 9 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 11.9bn against EGP 3.5bn on offer, 339% of the amount sought, and EGP 3.5bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 91-day rate has ranged from 9.56% to 10.29%.
A year earlier the 91-day bill cleared at 10.18%, so the government is paying 17 basis points less than twelve months ago.
