Egypt T-bill auction, 8 February 2005: 364-day at 9.94%, down 22 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 8 February 2005, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 9.32% (down 10 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 9.94% (down 22 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 8.1bn against EGP 3.0bn on offer, 269% of the amount sought, and EGP 3.0bn was accepted.
At 9.94%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 21 auctions of the past year.
