Egypt T-bill auction, 27 April 2004: 182-day at 10.37%, up 76 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 27 April 2004, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 10.37% (up 76 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled EGP 2.5bn against EGP 2.9bn on offer, 85% of the amount sought, and EGP 2.5bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 182-day rate has ranged from 6.99% to 12.14%.
A year earlier the 182-day bill cleared at 12.04%, so the government is paying 167 basis points less than twelve months ago.
