Egypt T-bill auction, 13 April 2004: 364-day at 10.72%, up 25 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 13 April 2004, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 91-day bill at 9.49% (up 99 basis points), the 182-day bill at 9.62% (up 42 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 10.72% (up 25 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled EGP 5.3bn against EGP 6.0bn on offer, 88% of the amount sought, and EGP 4.5bn was accepted.

Put EGP 100,000 into the 364-day bill at this auction and you get back EGP 110,723 after 12 months: EGP 10,723 in interest before any withholding tax, about EGP 894 a month.
