Egypt T-bill auction, 8 April 2003: 182-day at 12.96%, down 138 bps

At the Treasury bill auction dated 8 April 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 12.96% (down 138 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.

Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 2.4bn against EGP 1.0bn on offer, 237% of the amount sought, and EGP 1.1bn was accepted.

Over the past year the 182-day rate has ranged from 5.24% to 14.35%.
