Egypt T-bill auction, 1 April 2003: 182-day at 14.35%, up 216 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 1 April 2003, the Central Bank of Egypt cleared the 182-day bill at 14.35% (up 216 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of accepted bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled EGP 1.7bn against EGP 700m on offer, 244% of the amount sought, and EGP 759m was accepted.
At 14.35%, the 182-day rate is the highest in the 30 auctions of the past year.
