Tanzania T-bill auction, 15 July 2026: 364-day at 7.03%, down 9 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 15 July 2026, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 3.35% (down 11 basis points), the 182-day bill at 4.78% (up 8 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 7.03% (down 9 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled TZS 503.0bn against TZS 239.7bn on offer, 210% of the amount sought, and TZS 239.7bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 5.20% to 7.85%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 8.42%, so the government is paying 139 basis points less than twelve months ago.
