Tanzania T-bill auction, 3 December 2025: 364-day at 6.24%, down 11 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 3 December 2025, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 5.93% (up 24 basis points), the 182-day bill at 5.91% (up 5 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 6.24% (down 11 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled TZS 268.8bn against TZS 155.1bn on offer, 173% of the amount sought, and TZS 219.3bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 5.61% to 12.99%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 12.79%, so the government is paying 655 basis points less than twelve months ago.
