Tanzania T-bill auction, 22 October 2025: 364-day at 6.30%, up 69 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 22 October 2025, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 5.90% (down 63 basis points), the 182-day bill at 6.00% (down 81 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 6.30% (up 69 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled TZS 152.2bn against TZS 80.0bn on offer, 190% of the amount sought, and TZS 66.3bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 5.61% to 12.99%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 11.19%, so the government is paying 489 basis points less than twelve months ago.
