Tanzania T-bill auction, 12 February 2025: 364-day at 12.25%, down 23 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 12 February 2025, the Bank of Tanzania cleared the 91-day bill at 7.40% (down 36 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 12.25% (down 23 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average yield of successful bids.
Demand was strong: bids totalled TZS 273.2bn against TZS 104.7bn on offer, 261% of the amount sought, and TZS 217.9bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 6.75% to 12.99%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 12.22%, so the government is paying 3 basis points more than twelve months ago.
