At the Treasury bill auction dated 23 June 2026, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 12.26% (up 2 basis points), the 182-day bill at 12.24% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 12.26% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 1.3bn against MZN 1.6bn on offer, 84% of the amount sought, and MZN 1.3bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.15% to 13.00%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 12.89%, so the government is paying 63 basis points less than twelve months ago.
