At the Treasury bill auction dated 22 June 2026, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 12.24% (up 1 basis point) and the 364-day bill at 12.26% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 3.0bn against MZN 3.1bn on offer, 96% of the amount sought, and MZN 3.0bn was accepted.
Over the past year the 364-day rate has ranged from 12.15% to 13.00%.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 12.87%, so the government is paying 61 basis points less than twelve months ago.
