Mozambique T-bill auction, 11 June 2025: 364-day at 12.88%, unchanged
At the Treasury bill auction dated 11 June 2025, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 12.55% (unchanged), the 182-day bill at 12.87% (unchanged) and the 364-day bill at 12.88% (unchanged). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 1.3bn against MZN 3.4bn on offer, 39% of the amount sought, and MZN 1.4bn was accepted.
At 12.88%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 45 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 17.02%, so the government is paying 414 basis points less than twelve months ago.
