Mozambique T-bill auction, 4 June 2025: 364-day at 12.88%, down 30 bps
At the Treasury bill auction dated 4 June 2025, the Banco de Moçambique cleared the 91-day bill at 12.55% (down 51 basis points), the 182-day bill at 12.87% (down 33 basis points) and the 364-day bill at 12.88% (down 30 basis points). The rate shown is the weighted average subscription rate.
The auction was undersubscribed: bids totalled MZN 85m against MZN 700m on offer, 12% of the amount sought, and MZN 33m was accepted.
At 12.88%, the 364-day rate is the lowest in the 44 auctions of the past year.
A year earlier the 364-day bill cleared at 17.71%, so the government is paying 483 basis points less than twelve months ago.
